DC Comics has announced that Dano will be writing a new six-issue comic book series about his character, titled “Riddler: Year One.” The series will serve as a prequel to “The Batman,” explaining how Dano’s version of the iconic villain came to be. Dano will collaborate with illustrator Stevan Subic on the comics, but will write all six issues himself. The official synopsis from DC reads: “This series explores the background of how accountant Edward Nashton went from a simple Gotham City nobody to becoming Batman’s nemesis, setting them on a collision course in the blockbuster feature film....

A docu-comedy in the style of “The Rehearsal” or HBO’s two-season series “How to With John Wilson” — both produced by Nathan Fielder — “Paul T. Goldman” is the passion project of Jason Woliner. Best known for directing 2020’s “Borat Subsequent Moviefilm,” Woliner is a veteran comedy director, with episodes of “The Last Man on Earth,” “Parks and Recreation,” and Fielder’s Comedy Central series “Nathan For You” on his résumé....

Anderson revealed his ideal runtime when the conversation pivoted to the possibility of the director moving into the television space. Anderson has directed nine feature films since 1996 and has helmed countless music videos, but he has never been behind the camera for a television series. “[The limited series is a] great format when it works. It’s exciting,” Anderson said. “Then again, so are series. I’ve never dipped a toe in that world, but I can imagine it being very difficult to sustain the life of a story for more than two, three, four seasons....

“I was reading the Valley News from the early 1950s, and I was fascinated by the social section of the paper,” Anderson told W regarding his inspiration. “I loved the women in the Valley doing their club activities. There were photos of the ladies at a flower show with their prized orchids. There was a group of art students who were chosen as extras for a Hollywood movie. There was a shot of a wedding shower for the daughter of a prominent family....
